This article covers how to send PRL, and what to check when a send doesn't go through.
Before you send
Check the address carefully. Pearl transactions cannot be reversed, cancelled, or recovered — not by you and not by us. PRL sent to the wrong address is gone.
- Pearl addresses begin with
prl1p. If an address doesn't start that way, it isn't a Pearl address. - Paste rather than type, then compare the first and last several characters against the original.
- Never send PRL to an address from a different network. A Bitcoin or Ethereum address will not work.
- If someone sent you an address over Discord, X, or DM, verify it through a second channel before sending anything.
Sending PRL
- Open your wallet and choose Send.
- Paste the recipient's
prl1p…address. - Enter the amount. The smallest unit of PRL is a grain — one hundred-millionth of a coin.
- Review the transaction fee.
- Confirm. You'll get a transaction ID — keep it.
Your transaction is broadcast to the network and included in a block, normally within a few minutes. Pearl produces a block roughly every 194 seconds.
When a send fails
"Insufficient funds" when you appear to have enough
The fee comes out on top of the amount you're sending, so you need slightly more than the send amount. Try sending a marginally smaller amount, or use your wallet's "send maximum" option if it has one.
Pearl also uses a UTXO model — your balance is made up of discrete received amounts rather than one pooled number. Occasionally a wallet can't combine them in a way that covers both the amount and the fee.
"Invalid address"
Confirm the address begins with prl1p and that no characters were lost in copying. A trailing space is a common culprit.
The transaction won't broadcast
Your wallet needs a live connection to the network. Check that you're online, that the wallet has finished syncing, and that a firewall or VPN isn't blocking it. Restart the wallet and try again.
The send appeared to work but the recipient hasn't received it
Look up your transaction ID on the explorer: https://explorer.pearlresearch.ai/
- Confirmed on the explorer — the PRL has been delivered. Ask the recipient to check their address and sync their wallet.
- Unconfirmed — it's in progress; wait for the next block or two.
- Not found — it never reached the network, and your PRL hasn't left your wallet. Try again.
Sent to the wrong address
We're sorry — this cannot be undone. No one can reverse a confirmed Pearl transaction. Anyone who contacts you offering to recover it is running a scam, and they will ask for your seed phrase.
