These apply to our Discord, our GitHub repositories, and any other space we run. They're short on purpose.
The standard
Be respectful, constructive, and professional. Contributors and community members of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome here.
That's the same standard as our repository Code of Conduct, and it applies everywhere.
Not acceptable
- Harassment, insults, or personal attacks
- Trolling or deliberately disruptive behaviour
- Publishing others' private information — including wallet addresses linked to a named person, real names, or locations, without consent
- Discrimination or slurs of any kind
- Sexual content, or any content inappropriate for a professional space
Rules specific to a crypto community
These exist because they protect people from real financial harm.
Never ask anyone for a seed phrase
Not as a joke, not to "help", not for any reason. Asking is an immediate ban. If someone asks you, report it — see How Pearl will and won't contact you.
No unsolicited DMs offering help or services
Support happens in public channels or in a ticket the person opened themselves. Cold-DMing someone who posted a problem is how nearly every scam starts, so we treat it as a serious violation regardless of intent.
No scam links, phishing, or malware
Including "helpful tools" you haven't verified. If you're sharing software, share the source.
No impersonation
Don't present yourself as Pearl staff, a moderator, or another member. This includes matching avatars and lookalike usernames.
No price manipulation or financial advice
Pump coordination, "PRL will hit $X" claims, guaranteed-return promises, and paid shilling are all out. Discussing price is fine; talking people into positions is not.
Nobody in the community — including moderators — speaks for Pearl on financial matters.
No promoting other tokens or projects
Unless it's genuinely relevant to a technical discussion. Our Discord isn't a promotional channel.
No third-party mining software promotion
See Third-party mining software: why we don't endorse it. Share it for discussion and review if you like; don't recommend it to people as safe.
Practical things
- Use the right channel. It gets you a faster answer.
- Search before asking. Most questions are answered in this help center.
- Don't cross-post the same question in several channels.
- Don't @-mention the team to get attention. For anything involving your funds or account, open a ticket — that's tracked and answered within one business day.
- English is our primary language. Other languages are welcome in general chat; an English summary helps others help you.
What moderators can do
Moderators may delete messages, mute, kick, or ban, and maintainers may remove comments, close issues, or ban contributors from our repositories — at their discretion.
Typically it escalates: a warning, then a temporary mute, then a ban. But anything that puts someone's funds at risk — asking for seed phrases, phishing links, impersonation — is an immediate ban with no warning. We'd rather be too fast there than too fair.
Reporting a problem
| What | Where |
|---|---|
| Conduct violations — harassment, abuse | conduct@pearlresearch.ai |
| Scams, phishing, impersonation | A support ticket under Scams & phishing, or a moderator in Discord |
| Something urgent in Discord | Any moderator, directly |
| A security vulnerability | See How to report a security vulnerability |
When reporting, include screenshots and the username or handle. Reports are handled privately.
Appealing a moderation decision
If you think a decision was wrong, email conduct@pearlresearch.ai with what happened and why. We'll look at it properly.
Please don't argue it out in public channels or return on an alt account — the second of those turns a temporary action into a permanent one.
