Verifying official Pearl links, domains, and downloads

Fake Pearl sites exist, and some rank well in search results. Before you download software or connect a wallet, check you're in the right place.

Checking a domain

• Read the domain right to left. The real domain is the part immediately before the first single slash. pearlresearch.ai.example.com is not us — it's example.com.
• Watch for lookalikes: pearl-research.ai, pearlresearch.io, pearIresearch.ai (capital I instead of l), pear1research.ai (digit one).
• Beware different top-level domains. Our site is .ai. A .com, .net, .xyz, or .finance version is not ours.
• Type it yourself rather than clicking a link from a DM, an ad, or a search result.

Downloading software safely

Pearl software is published in exactly two places: our official website and our GitHub organisation. Nowhere else.

The documented install commands pull from our GitHub repository:

Check the domain in any install command before running it. It should be githubusercontent.com under the pearl-research-labs organisation. An install script from anywhere else is not ours.

You can also build from source — the code is public and ISC-licensed.

Never trust these sources

• Search ads. Scammers buy ads for project names. Scroll past sponsored results.
• Links in DMs, even from someone who seems helpful.
• Third-party download sites and software aggregators.
• "Mirror" or "faster" downloads. We don't have mirrors.
• Browser extensions claiming to be a Pearl wallet. We don't publish one. [[CONFIRM: correct if a browser extension wallet exists]]
• Mobile apps. [[CONFIRM: state clearly whether an official mobile app exists — scammers exploit ambiguity here]]

Red flags on a website

• It asks for your seed phrase — no legitimate Pearl site ever will
• It asks you to connect a wallet to check a balance. Balances are public; the explorer needs only your address.
• It offers to "claim", "unlock", "migrate", or "verify" tokens
• Countdown timers or urgency messaging
• Broken English, wrong logo, or subtly off brand colours
• No HTTPS

Please report it — open a ticket or post in our Discord with the URL and where you found it. We'll pursue takedown and warn the community.

If you entered your seed phrase on a site you now suspect: move your funds to a newly generated wallet immediately and treat the old one as compromised. Then open a ticket.
