Pearl Research Labs is a small team working on hard problems at the intersection of cryptography, consensus and AI infrastructure. If that's the kind of work you want to do, we'd like to hear from you.
Applying
Open a support ticket and set the Category to Careers. Include:
- Which role you're interested in, or the kind of work you want to do
- Your CV or a link to it
- Something you've built. A repository, a paper, a project — this matters more to us than a polished CV
- A few lines on why Pearl. We want to know which part of the problem interests you
What we tend to look for
- Evidence over credentials. Show us something you made and we'll pay more attention to it than to where you studied.
- Comfort with depth. Pearl involves real cryptography, real distributed systems, and real GPU work. You don't need to know all of it, but you should want to.
- Willingness to work without much scaffolding. A small team means fewer processes and more owning things end to end.
- Clear writing. Most of the coordination on a distributed team happens in writing.
A note on unsolicited applications
We do receive a lot of speculative applications, and we're honest about the odds: unless your background lines up closely with something we're actively hiring for, the realistic answer is no. That's not a reflection on you — it's a small team with narrow current needs.
What genuinely improves your chances: contribute something first. Pearl is open source at github.com/pearl-research-labs/pearl. A thoughtful pull request, a well-written bug report, or substantive help in our Discord tells us more than any application can. Several conversations that mattered started that way.

Beware of fake recruiters
Fake job offers are a common attack on crypto companies and the people who want to work at them. Watch for:
- Anyone claiming to recruit for Pearl who contacts you first by DM
- Requests to install software or run a "coding test" from an unfamiliar repository — a known malware vector
- Requests for your seed phrase, wallet access, or a payment for any part of a hiring process
- Interviews conducted entirely on Telegram or Discord DMs by an unverifiable account
